Research activities
Research work is one of the most important directions of the department's activity.
The teaching staff of the department actively participates in scientific-practical and scientific-methodological conferences and seminars of different levels, including international.
Since 2018-2019 academic year in the framework of the international scientific-practical conference "Baitursynov Readings" the department organizes and conducts a panel session "Journalism and PR: new challenges of time".
Also every year the department publishes a collection of scientific publications within the framework of the international scientific-practical conference "Actual Problems of Journalism and PR". The Department invites scientists and practitioners from CIS countries to participate.
From 2017 to 2023 issued 8 scientific publications in journals included in the list of WebofScience (TomsonReuters), Scopus; 30 scientific articles in journals recommended by the Committee for Control in the field of education and science MNVO RK. Faculty members publish textbooks in the framework of the disciplines they teach.
Master's and doctoral students make their contribution to the development of scientific work of the department.
In 2022-2023 academic year master student Vitaly Rudnev within the framework of his scientific research realized a grant from the National Alumni Network on the topic "Student youth with disabilities: legal protection, effective participation in public and state administration, increasing competitiveness in the labor market".
Since 2021-2022 academic year in the framework of research work of doctoral student Suleimenova Ainur in the department is held a national festival of documentary film among students "KozQaras".
Considerable attention at the department is paid to scientific work of students, there is a research circle "Media literacy for all". The participants of the scientific circle conduct joint research, the results of which are published in international and national student conferences, as well as participate in competitions. Under the guidance of scientific supervisors, students conduct master classes and trainings for schoolchildren.
Every year students take part in international and national creative competitions and Olympiads, where they win prizes.
In 2018-2019 academic year the national team of the department took the second place in the republican subject Olympiad on journalism, and in 2019-2020 the department acted as a co-organizer of this event.
In 2022-2023, the national team of students of the department took the 3rd place in the republican subject Olympiad on journalism.
Within the framework of international relations with South Ural State University, students of the department participate in the international media forum and receive prize-winning prizes.
In the 2022-2023 academic year the competitive works of the students of the department under the guidance of Professor Zhusupova Almatay Mergenbaevna were recognized.
